When GreenCart Global approached us ahead of their peak annual sale event, their platform was suffering from micro-outages and slow database queries during traffic spikes. Beyond traditional performance metrics, the company had a clear mandate to minimize the carbon footprint of their digital infrastructure. We designed a custom headless commerce architecture that solved both performance and energy efficiency challenges simultaneously.
Optimizing Server Load with Edge Caching
We migrated GreenCart from a legacy monolithic platform to a modern edge-rendered serverless architecture. By caching static asset pipelines at the network edge and restructuring GraphQL queries, we reduced origin server hits by over seventy percent during high-concurrency windows.
Measurable Results in Speed and Energy Efficiency
During the four-day shopping weekend, GreenCart recorded zero downtime while handling triple their historical traffic volume. Page load speeds improved by nearly two seconds, and overall compute energy footprint dropped by thirty-two percent compared to the previous year.
